Rest awhile...

... creativity needs space to think. Sometimes the road to achieving our highest priorities and reaching our most challenging goals is a winding one. My in laws are living with us, and while restrictive, it is our privilege to be there for them while they need us. We're so fortunate to have great relationships, respect and gratitude at the core of our new expanded household. With four adults, four kids (in three schools), the dog and the cat, and numerous personal, family, business and community interests to respond to, it's easy to miss the little important things. Today I'm glad to have caught one: My mother in law and I stopped for a while at Grossi Point in Mapua and enjoyed the mystery and majesty of this moment. Snow tipped peaks, green pastures, still waters. The eyes and mind stretch, the body and heart rest. "The person who tires of this is tired of life", my father in law said of the mountains gloriously arrayed before us on the road home. We're cherishing these days. I hope I too never lose my sense of wonder.
